Sr. Data Analyst with Expert level P&C Domain knowledge

Data Analysis

Fulfill requests for data modeling results through pre-built risk models.
Gain familiarity with third party models to field questions about results and validate results are reasonable.
Gather and validate data for statutory data calls.
Provide guidance, mentorship, and feedback to junior analysts.
Report Development

Write technical requirements for reports requested by management/product teams.
Map data from reporting system or source systems.
Write SQL queries to gather and cleanse data needed for reports (T-SQL, PL/SQL, DB2 SQL).
Provide data dumps using Excel and SQL/PowerShell on an ad hoc basis.
Use Tableau to build standard reports for management.
BI Tool Administration

Maintain list of active reports and manage user access on Tableau.
Help perform software updates and upgrades (Tableau).
Ensure all published reports are updated per their schedule with fresh and accurate data.
Field questions from users about content of reports and usability of Tableau.
Train users in Tableau and help promote usage across the organization.
Job Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
At least five years of experience in a data analyst position.
In-depth knowledge of Property & Casualty Insurance industry and industry solutions, and expert level understanding of Workers Compensation and General Liability LOBs.
Experience in interact with external parties (NISS, TICO, NCCI, ISO, Lexis-Nexis etc) and/or with State DOIs representatives to understand any changes in regulatory reporting requirements.
Should be expert in state reporting obligations and prior experience of generating all monthly reports required to be filed. We operate in 39 states.
Provide support to IT or business group for any data pattern related clarification or extraction thru PL-SQL and Power shell scripting
Perform filing various compliance and regulatory reports to state department of insurance
Perform filing various compliance reports to other third-party regulatory bodies like NISS, TICO, ISO, NCCI etc
Support any enquiry or ad-hoc requests from state department of insurance, third-party regulatory bodies or higher management.
Advanced research, analytical and problem-solving skills.
Advanced verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate with staff at all levels within the organization.
Demonstrated ability to identify issues and provide viable suggestions for improvement.
Experience in leveraging technology solutions to maximize effectiveness and efficiency.
Effective time management.
Intermediate knowledge of scripting languages like PowerShell/Batch/Python.
Natural curiosity and ability to adapt to evolving toolsets and technology.
